How students should use this module

1

Read the lab introduction

Review linkage, recombination, three-point mapping, coincidence, and interference.

2

Complete the in-person component

Observe F₂ flies, identify sex and phenotypes, and record your data for Assignment #4.

3

Analyze real data

Use the Three-Point Mapping in Drosophila tool to analyze the class data obtained from the laboratory.

4

Complete the randomized challenge

Launch the Three-Point Linkage Mapping Generator and solve a new chromosome mapping dataset independently.

5

Submit the assignment

Return the completed Lab 4 assignment or upload a scanned PDF through Canvas.

These buttons are the same resources shown in Canvas, but organized as a single Lab 4 landing page.

Suggested workflow:

1. Score your F₂ flies in the laboratory.
2. Analyze the class dataset using the Three-Point Mapping tool.
3. Practice independently using the Random Dataset Generator.
4. Complete and submit Assignment #4.
